If a one-on-one consultation isn't in your budget, I am thrilled to introduce a new service... Group Styling and Shopping.
Group Styling and Shopping brings 6 or fewer women together for 3 hours of shopping, styling and learning together. I will group women together by body-type to shop and teach which types of clothes work best for their figure; which styles accentuate their assets and minimize their "challenges."
>> Take a SNEAK PEEK at the body-type assessment.
IMPORTANT: This can be ordered as an individual -- you don't have to create your own group!
I am grouping people by location, availability and similar body-types. I already have groups forming along the Wasatch front and in southern Utah. Of course if you want to create a group of your own or invite a friend or two that will work, but you don't need to create your own group to participate.
>> Hear from a woman that worked with me in the past and has already signed up for group styling.
As a professional wardrobe stylist for more than 15 years, I've focused on REAL people with REAL bodies and REAL budgets and I love the idea of saving people money by grouping them together by body-type.
>> What can a wardrobe stylist do for you?
Of course I'll still be doing one-on-one styling consultations and Wardrobe and Closet Inventories, but I'm thrilled to offer this new service.

THE OBJECTIVES OF GROUP SHOPPING ARE: 1) Help women to identify proper fit. Women’s sizing is not standardized from brand-to-brand or even from season-to-season, so you can’t shop by the size on the label; you must try clothes on. However my experience is that most women don’t know what proper fit is and often self-image issues distort how they view themselves. 2) Does it flatter? We all have figure assets and challenges. Most of us dwell on our challenges rather than flaunt our assets. I teach women to recognize and embrace their assets and then dress to accentuate them, while minimizing their figure challenges. I've also learned from classes that I've taught at the local university that teaching these principles in a group setting is a very effective way for people to understand. It's often easier to see these principles work on someone else before recognizing them on your own body. 3) Expand their style palette. As we Group Shop, each individual will have the final decision in what they choose to buy, but as I teach women how to properly fit their clothes and which items flatter their figure assets, they will discover styles that they haven’t worn before. But I will also make other suggestions to help break them out of their comfort zone and often these are the very items they love the most and get compliments from others. But the final decision is always the shoppers; not mine. 4) Find flattering clothes at any price point. Just because a piece of clothing is expensive doesn’t mean it looks good on you. I recently went through a client’s closet and she tried on a $200 pair of jeans and $25 pair of jeans. She wasn’t real happy when I told her that the less expensive jeans looked better on her body – they were more flattering to her assets and minimized her challenges. This illustrates why my “Does it fit? Does it flatter?” principle is so important. I teach women to recognize which styles and cuts are best for their body-type and they can choose where to shop and what to spend. |
HOW GROUP SHOPPING STARTED I've been doing "group styling and shopping" for years as I've led tours to Italy, New York, China, San Francisco, etc., and now I'm going to do these groups sessions here in Utah. I've also learned from the classes I've taught at the University of Utah that people learn the proper fit and flatter principles when they learn from each other. Sometimes it's easier to see a principle applied on another person and their body than it is on ourselves. >> My experience is the difference! These Group Styling and Shopping sessions will take place in stores you typically shop in and I always believe in finding a good deal and will share my tips and tricks to do so. |
RETAILERS ARE GETTING INVOLVED
With my 15 years of styling and 10 years of TV experience, I have developed numerous relationships with local and national retailers. In fact, on my Girlfriend Getaways to New York and San Francisco, I am able to arrange for a private breakfast and shopping with Macy's. These relationships allow me to access group discounts for my shopping groups and other privileges, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.
