What is a Wardrobe and Closet Inventory?
.
Below is an e-mail I received from a client recently:
"What is a Wardrobe and Closet Inventory? This is exactly what the other women at the table asked me when I bid on this item. Most of these women thought it was some sort of closet organization company or service.
I was recently at a charity auction where Alicia from Chic on a Shoestring had donated her Wardrobe and Closet Inventory. I had heard Alicia on the radio and seen Alicia on TV and for years so I knew exactly what it was. Unfortunately when I told these others at the table they started to bid against me, but I still won.
Even though I was excited for what I won and for Alicia to come over and work with me, after these two hours of one-on-one time in my closet, it far exceeded my expectations. It was truly an education and when she left I had a list in my hand what I needed to buy to pull many items that were already in my closet into complete outfits and a plan for a functional wardrobe. But maybe even more important, I had a much better idea of what not to buy.
She explained to me why certain things look good on me and my body-type and why other things don't. She also showed me the little changes I could make to feel more feminine, but within my comfort zone.
I am now excited to go shopping, which I'm usually not, and much more confident that I won't be wasting money on pieces that I'll wear just a couple times.
I now understand what she means by building in a core wardrobe that fits my lifestyle. And I was very surprised when she didn't instruct me to go to the most expensive store in town; she showed me how to identify these items at the stores where I already shop.
Thank you, thank you Alicia! It was a pleasure to meet you, those two hours went by so fast. I feel like I learned so much and now have the tools to be a much better shopper and can do it for myself."
A week letter she followed up:
"I went shopping and had fun looking at items I had previously avoided and bought much needed items to update my closet. Our meeting was great and it gave me confidence I needed to put together a better wardrobe. I now feel like I know what to shop for... Thanks!"
