My "Chic on a Shoestring" Philosophy
"It's very fulfilling to help REAL women to identify
the styles that are most flattering to their body-type!"
the styles that are most flattering to their body-type!"
Few of us have a perfectly proportioned body and endless income to shop whenever and wherever we want. The media portrays this as the "norm" in America, but truth be known, these people are the minority.
I founded Chic on a Shoestring in 2002 to focus on the rest of us, the forgotten majority, all of us with REAL bodies and REAL budgets.
The purpose of Chic on a Shoestring is to teach people how to dress for their body-type as to highlight their figure assets and minimize their challenges, and then how to do this on a budget. More than once I've had a TV viewer stop me at a discount store, and say, "You really do shop here!"
When I work with clients my goal is to not just shop for them, but to teach them how to recognize which styles are best for their body-type so they can shop on their own. When you learn my fit and proportion principles, you'll have far fewer regrets hanging in your closet. This knowledge helps to prevent those "impulse" purchases, which often become a waste of money.
Of course I'm up-to-date on the latest trends, but I teach you how to make them an aspect of a core wardrobe rather than the focus of your closet.

I've loved working with Clinton Kelly and Robert
Verdi, but they will never understand
the transitions that a woman's body
will go through during her lifetime.

My Experience is the Difference!
After college I was determined to head to New York and immerse myself in the fashion mecca, but life had other plans. This change in direction helped me to realize a practical application of the principles I had learned and share them with the everyday woman and I have been doing that for the last 15 years.
