There are two parts to a wardrobe makeover:
1) The first step is the Wardrobe and Closet Inventory. This time together in your closet helps me to understand your style, the gaps in your wardrobe and the common "mistakes" you're making with your purchases -- wasted money. It's also common for me to discover forgotten items in your closet or show you how to use them in another way and get excited about them again. This is also why I sometimes call this step "shopping your own closet."
2) After understanding your wardrobe, we now have a strategy to go shopping together. We'll have a detailed list, which makes our time effective and reduces "impulse" purchases. This is also where I help you to apply the principles of "Does it fit and does it flatter?" If an article of clothing doesn't fit you well and flatter you're body-type then it will be pushed aside and a waste of money down the road. When you consider cost-per-wearing these become expensive items.
