Doing a jean fitting on TV when the male host jumps in to get some "attention."

All women dread trying on swim suits, but next on the "list of dread" are jeans. They are a staple in everyone's wardrobe, but honestly one of the hardest pieces of clothing to get a perfect fit. You can have two women the same height and same weight, and they can even wear the same clothing size, but they still have very different bodies. This means one pair of jeans that looks great on one woman, can be quite unflattering on another.

With my background and training, I look at the architecture and proportions of clothing. To truly find a great pair of fitting jeans, you need to understand if a woman is long or short-waisted, her waist to hip ratio and her stage of life (pre, post-baby, menopause, etc.).

For this Jean Fitting Event there are two parts:

A Jean Fitting Seminar for Everyone At 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 7th on the second floor of Macy's at City Creek. This is a 30-minute overview of fit principles and the Macy's discount card will also be available there. To get a head count please indicate below if you will attend the seminar.
Personalized Jean Fitting With the help of some interns, I will be giving a personal consultation on which type of jean will fit her body best. There will be ten women each hour from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. for a total of 50 women. Jeans have so many options, which is great if you know what's best for your body-type, but also creates a problem for jeans that may look great on a mannequin, but not so flattering on YOUR body. Jeans at Macy's are generally between $50 to $100 and are well made to last for years and I will be providing a Macy's discount. The personalized fittings are also on the second floor.

Of course, there is no cost for either of these. I've worked with the Six Sisters as they've had more media appearances and have done a jean fitting with them and we thought it would be fun to offer at their Build Your Blog Conference.

Photograph Instructions: Please put on a swim suit (one or two piece) in a solid color if possible, without ruffles and such, and stand in front of a high contrast background (white wall) and take a photograph of yourself with a forward facing and side view, like the photos to the right (although a higher contrast between you and the background would be better). A snapshot with your cell phone is fine. If you don’t wear a swim suit, the clothing you choose needs to be tight and revealing to evaluate your figure-type — photos of you in baggy, loose clothes are of little use.

I've been a professional wardrobe stylist for 15 years, received 4 years of training in Clothing and Textiles, and had a weekly fashion segment on both ABC and CBS affiliates for 10 years, BUT... I'm new to blogging and looking to connect and contribute to other blogs where women are the primary target.

These are the areas of focus for my content that may be of interest to your audience:

DIY ~ I'm not a "I'm wearing this so you must have it" blogger. I like to teach people what's flattering on their particular body-type so they can choose their own clothes.
Women's Issues ~ I've done enough one-on-one consultations to know that clothing is deeply personal for most women and it gives insight into their body image and self-perception. I try to help women find their personal best as they are right now.
Women's Relationships ~ Many times I've had husbands contact me after I've worked with their wife, one recently e-mailed me, "Thank you... my wife finally believes that she is as beautiful as I see her!" How a woman feels about herself definitely affects her relationship.
Organization ~ It's one thing to have an organized closet, it's quite another to have a functional wardrobe. The focus of my work is to teach women my 4-step process to a functional and flattering wardrobe.
Frugality ~ I've been in the closet of many women. You'd be surprised how many of those clothes still have the tag on or have only been worn once or twice. What a waste of money! I teach women how to stop making impulse purchase and to have a plan. Think about it... you make a shopping list for the grocery store, you should have a plan for your wardrobe.
Fashion ~ Yes, I'm into fashion and knowledgeable about the trends, but I'm also firmly based in reality. Just because an outfit looks good on a model, doesn't mean it will flatter your body-type and most people don't have endless pockets to buy clothes. I teach people to build a core, functional wardrobe that's flatter ON THEIR BODY and how to do this on a budget, then splash in some trend pieces.
Recipe/Food ~ There are actually a lot of similarities between having a functional pantry and kitchen and a functional wardrobe. I believe women should first develop a core wardrobe then add trend or fashion pieces.
Celebrate REAL Women ~ I've been working with women one-on-one for over 15 years and one thing I know for sure is that women are way too hard on themselves and their bodies. MY EXPERIENCE IS THE DIFFERENCE! After college I was determined to head to New York and immerse myself in the fashion mecca, but life had other plans.
